Kids are funny!

This is just a small batch of pics that make me laugh.

Here's my friend Amy holding the giant baby. Judah was just creeping up on 5 months in this picture and he is HUGE! Already wearing nothing but 9 month size clothes and obviously eating like a champ. Hmmmm, can't wait to see if he stays this big or balances out later.

Piper loves to do funny things with Judah. Either she is playing with his clothes or trying to accessorize him. Here she was getting him ready for the baby shower we were attending by seeing if her sunglasses might match the yellow outfit he was going to be putting on.

Piper is turning into such a little poser!

The Geus Twins Turn 1

So my good Friend Amy Geus and her husband Jeremy have adorable twins, Lila and Grayson, whom I affectionately call "the Twinkies". This past weekend they celebrated their first birthday party with monkey cupcakes, lots of friends and presents. The twins started life early and very small but they are making up for it now. What's say we do like the good book and start... In the beginning...

First comes Lila. Isn't that typical of the girl child to start out a little bossy and want to do everything first?

And tiny little Grayson follows in his sister's footsteps. Only his footsteps were almost a full pound smaller!

Fast forward twelve months and it's time to celebrate their birthday. Wow! Time flys.

Does this look like the work of professionals or what?

Grayson is too!

Present time!

Here I am with Amy Lila, Judah and Grayson. Now, Judah just hit the 5 month old mark and he is almost as big as the one year old Twinkies. Thank you Piper for documenting this moment with your awesome photography skills.

Judah's Baptism

July 5th 2009

Matt 19:14
Let the children come to me, do not stop them, because the kingdom of Heaven belongs to such as these.

We have come to the much awaited Baptisim of baby Judah. Patrick and I prayed that this day would come sooner rather than later because his Godparents live out of the country and we had some tricky logistics. Thanks to Justin and Kristi for working out a Sunday during their trip home for this special day.

Judah in his beautiful handmade christening gown (more on that at the end) with his Godparents Justin and Kristi Walker.

Kristi, Justin and Father Cullen chatting before we began.

Father Cullen begins with prayer and scripture.

Parents and Godparents are invited to trace the sign of the cross on Judah's forhead.

I had to include the next few pictures to document one of the most touching experiences I've had in a long time. Because of the angle at which we were standing, only us parents, Godparents and Father Cullen could see what was happening with Judah. As Father poured the water over Judah the first time he smiled. With each pouring of the water the smile became bigger until it was almost a giggle. Although you can't see Judah's face well, the look on Kristi's face tells the whole story.

In the name of the Father... And the Son...
And the Holy Spirit.

It was such an awesome moment. Some may say that he just liked the water, but I am convinced that there was more to it than that!
Kristi's adorable baby bump. baby Walker is the next baby we will all gather for :-)

The Zanthos Family and my kids: Joseph, Justin, Kristi, Uncle George, Aunt Dianne, Piper, Judah and Zac. I think Judah was ready to change back into a onsie and take a nap at this point. It had been a long morning full of big events for him.

Last but certainly not least, I could talk about the christening gown forever. Aunt Dianne (who also made Piper's Easter dress) was back to hand sewing for this one. Very traditional, long, beautiful and perfectly done with lace insets that incorporated awesome cross work.

I'm still in awe of Aunt Dianne's sewing skills. This was such a beautiful gown and we are so lucky to be the recipients of it. It is definitely an heirloom piece that will be well preserved and saved for Judah's family in the future. :-)

The 4th of July

The 4th of July was so much fun this year. The kids have grown so much and I'm amazed at all the new and crazy things they do. We also got lucky enough to have my cousin Kristi and her husband Justin home from Denmark. We had a lot to celebrate!

Judah started the 4th by spending some quality time getting to know his future Godparents. The future being tomorrow...Baptism July 5th! We are so blessed to have Kristi and Justin to play such a special role in Judah's life.

Judah hanging out with Justin. I'm just saying, "how cute is that?"

Piper is becoming quite the swimmer. Look - no floaties!

Piper and my niece Kylie take a break to create a masterpiece in the kids art area.

aaaaahhhhhh - the fun and memories the slip-and-slide brought back. You know you have all tried it and remember how fun it was. Zac had a blast.

These two could not be more alike if they tried!
